Our 2025 Annual Report is Here!

As we prepare for this next year, we look back at another year of organizing together to promote justice and liberation for Palestinians. It has been 10 years since the Canadian BDS Coalition first began, and we are grateful for all those we have and continue to work alongside. You can find the PDF version below and a text only version follows.

Canadian BDS Coalition and International BDS Allies…working together to promote justice for Palestinians.

We are a 20+ member national organization with regional and local groups from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island. In 2024, we became an international organization when groups from abroad including South Africa, Palestine, and Tunisia joined.

Canadian organizations came together in 2016 to form the Canadian BDS Coalition in response  to the call from Palestinian Civil Society to support a global movement for boycott, divestment and sanctions, targeting Israel’s system of settler-colonialism, occupation, and apartheid towards the Palestinian people. Our work began 10 years ago, in January 2016, when we contacted organizations part of the Canadian Boycott Coalition. We held the inaugural meeting of the Canadian BDS Coalition in April 2016. Since then, we have not stopped. We work independently in support of boycott, divestment and sanctions activities against Israel, within the Canadian context, and with international allies, addressing local challenges and concerns.

Our Coalition Members all agree on our Basis of Unity which recognizes the Palestinian People’s right to self-determination, to return, and to resist. In December 2025, we also started welcoming Affiliate organizations who support individual campaigns rather than being a full Member. Read more about our Members and Affiliates near the end of the report or find them here.

Our key campaigns include: Apartheid Wine and Produce (including our Ramadan Medjoul campaign), Scotiabank / Elbit Systems, Shame / Boycott List, Company Specific Boycotts, and Divestment from Israeli apartheid, occupation, and genocide.

What is BDS?

BDS, or boycott, divestment and sanctions, is a strategy that allows people of conscience around the world to play an effective role in the Palestinian struggle for justice. For many decades, calls for boycott have been part of the Palestinian struggle for liberation.

In July 2005, Palestinian civil society organizations issued a call for a campaign of boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel until it complies with international law and Palestinian rights. A truly global movement against Israeli Apartheid is rapidly emerging in response to this call.

The Canadian BDS Coalition and Canadian BDS Allies works to confront the complicity of Canadian and multinational corporations and governments in the ongoing Israeli occupation, apartheid and colonialism inflicted upon the Palestinian people.

The Founding of the Canadian BDS Coalition & International BDS Allies

The inaugural conference call was held in April 2016, with an awareness of a growing interest in a shared Basis of Unity in support of the Palestinian civil society call for boycott, divestment and sanctions.

In May 2024, we became the “Canadian BDS Coalition and International BDS Allies” when several groups from outside Canada joined to work together with “The Canadian BDS Coalition.” One of our inaugural events was to hold an International Week of Action, the first week of October 2024, “Resisting Genocide: Boycott for Palestinian Liberation.” You can learn more about some of our victories here!

The Canadian BDS Coalition and International BDS Allies has a mailing list of about 35,000 and sends out regular action updates. You can subscribe here. If you’d like to get more involved, sign-up to volunteer with us.

The following is a report on the work of the Canadian BDS Coalition during 2025.

Highlights

  • 62 posts exposing corporate complicity and building momentum in the BDS movement
  • In December alone, we had 6 groups join the Coalition as Affiliates and another 5 organizations request to join as Member Organizations
  • Sent out 17 e-blasts to over 450K mailboxes, with an open rate of 45%# e-blasts
  • A total of 24 members in 2025, including 3 international organizations
  • Organized the second annual week of action to demand the CRA stop subsidizing genocide, occupation, and apartheid. Actions took place at 20+ cities across Canada.
  • For the 7th year, we continued our campaign to boycott apartheid dates. Over 850 individuals pledged not to buy Israeli apartheid Medjoul dates.
  • In the fall of 2024, we significantly updated our Shame list and began sharing the new “Shame and Boycott Database”. The database now includes nearly 5,000 entries!

Apartheid Wine and Produce

For Palestinians, agriculture is much more than the production of olives, citrus fruit and other fresh produce, or keeping livestock. Farming is tied to the Palestinian people’s identity, history and resistance to Israel’s colonial occupation.

This year, we continued to build momentum by encouraging people to:

  1. Boycott based on information provided, and by looking for Country Code 729 or label saying “Product of Israel.”
  2. Talk with the store manager/retailer and ask them to take products off the shelf and not bring more in.
  3. Individual actions to inform others in your area.
  4. Promote alternate Palestinian products.

With community support, we have identified more than 20 stores selling apartheid produce. Check out the list and report retailers if you identify “Israeli” produce.

Israel is one of the world’s largest citrus exporters, with the industry generating hundreds of millions of dollars annually. According to the Israeli Export Institute, citrus exports reached over $500 million in 2022, with key markets in Europe, North America, and Asia. However, much of this industry operates on stolen Palestinian land. In the occupied West Bank, illegal Israeli settlements cultivate citrus groves on confiscated Palestinian farmland, while Palestinian farmers face water restrictions, land seizures, and military violence.

Key citrus brands to boycott in Canada include Jaffa Oranges (owned by Mehadrin Tnuport Export/MTEX), Shoham (Mariam Shoham Ltd), Galilee Export (owned by Milouot Corporation, Citrus of Galilee, and Avocado Gal Packing House), and Orri branded oranges

Boycott Apartheid Medjoul. Buy Palestinian.

We continued investigating apartheid Medjoul dates as part of our 7th Ramadan campaign. 75% of Medjoul dates are marketed as “Products of Israel” when they are from stolen Palestinian land. Of those, the majority are grown on illegal Israeli colonial settlements on the Palestinian West Bank.

Specific boycotts were called for:

  • Fiesta Farms — selling Israeli” dates from Hadiklaim (under the brand name Myjool), imported by National Best Foods.
  • The Big Carrot — selling “Israeli” dates from Hadiklaim (under the brand names Myjool and Kin Solomon), imported by National Best Foods.
  • Costco — selling “Israeli” dates from Hadiklaim (under the brand name Mehadrin), as well as other apartheid produce.
  • Products packaged by Hadiklaim under the brands: Bomaja Blue, Golden Valley*, Jordan River, La Palma, Mehadrin, and Prana.
  • Carrousel — sold by Loblaws stores as “Israeli” dates under the brand name Carrousel, but appear to be distributed by Mehadrin. Carrousel is a brand of Provincial Fruit Company Ltd. which is associated with Burnac.

*Golden Valley also imports products from Palestine Garden, however they also continue to import “Israeli” apartheid products.

People are encouraged to buy Palestinian Medjoul including from:

Be sure to check the label and buy Palestinian not Apartheid. In 2025, over 850 individuals pledged not to buy Israeli Apartheid Medjoul dates! If you see Medjoul dates being sold, report it so we can continue tracking Palestinian and apartheid products!

BDS Shame and Boycott Database

In the fall of 2024, we significantly updated our Shame list and began sharing the new “Shame and Boycott Database”. This database includes nearly 5,000 entries based on research from from  Who ProfitsAFSC Investigate, and the UN database, Tech for Palestine, Don’t Buy Into Occupation, the Canadian BDS Coalition and International BDS Allies, the Canadian government and other sources.

The purpose of this resource is to provide individuals with the information you need to make responsible decisions. While the complicity of each entity varies, all of the organizations and companies included have supported the Israeli occupation and apartheid, without making amends — whether through a statement or practical remedies.

The campaign for boycott, divestment and sanctions isn’t just about individual consumer choices — it’s about building collective power and challenging Israeli apartheid through cultural boycott, academic boycott and military embargo, in addition to the economic boycott of Israeli products and products produced by corporations profiting from the occupation. This list also highlights Canadian companies that profit from occupation or that donate to, support and market occupation products. We view this list as a helpful tool to help individuals decide how to direct their shopping — but also for local Palestine solidarity groups, labour unions, social justice campaigners and others to find intersections around corporate complicity and determine local targets for campaigning.

In 2025, we continued to research complicit entities, including tips provided to us by the public. You can report a complicit product, company, or organization through our form!

Apartheid-Free Spaces

Apartheid-Free Zones are businesses, organizations, labour unions, community centres and spaces that are committed to active solidarity with Palestine. For businesses, this means committing to the boycott of Israeli and complicit products in solidarity with Palestine. For organizations, this means upholding the principles of the boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign, namely that Israel must meet its obligation to recognize the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination and fully comply with the precepts of international law.

We currently have 42 organizations included in our database. However, this is just the start. We know our list is not complete and we are planning to expand this database in 2026. You can nominate or register an apartheid-free space using our form!

Scotiabank + Elbit Systems

The campaign began by the Canadian BDS Coalition and International BDS Allies continued to grow. We continued the work of exposing Scotiabank’s complicity in Israel’s crimes, which is based in our original work in 2021…In late 2024, Scotiabank increased its holdings in Elbit by 25%, from $111 million to $180 million—after a year of public pressure had forced them to divest down from $402 million. This isn’t just about Elbit, but also Scotiabank’s profiteering from war by investing over $18B USD in corporations that profit from genocide.

Company / Organization Specific Campaigns

Rogers/Shaw

It came to our attention that the Canadian media conglomerate Rogers has included the Israeli/Zionist channel i24 as part of its Xfinity TV package and also offering it as part of its free previews. For context, it was i24 News channel that started to spread the lie of “40 beheaded babies” to justify the genocide in Gaza. The “40 beheaded babies” talking point and false narrative surrounding it was used for months by western media outlets and Zionist supporting personalities to justify genocidal destruction of Gaza till it was no longer convenient to repeat the lie in the face of mounting counter evidence. Over 7.2K letters were sent to Rogers and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) expressing outrage and demanding action.

Benevity

Benevity is a Calgary-based company that provides charitable donation-management, volunteer-management and grant- management platforms. The list of organizations eligible for donations includes “Friends of the IDF,ˮ which raises funds for the Israeli army, “HaYovel,ˮ “One Israel Fund,ˮ “the Jewish National Fund,ˮ and “IsraelGives,ˮ organizations which support illegal Israeli settlements and/or the Israeli army.

Amazon

The Canadian BDS Coalition and International BDS Allies endorsed the “Here, we boycott Amazon” campaign at boycottamazon.ca. Amazon, according to AFSC Investigate, is the main provider of cloud infrastructure and services for the Israeli government and military, US immigration authorities, and US prisons and police.

Beauty Brands

Despite the growing awareness of Israel’s crimes, several high-profile beauty brands continue to pour money into or operate within Israel with little regard for Palestinian lives. We highlighted several of these brands including Chanel, Tory Burch, Bath & Body Works, Body Shop, Sephora, Moroccanoil, Il Makiage, AHAVA, Yes To, Estee Lauder, Well.ca, DesignMe Hair, Amika, and Burt’s Bees.

Fabricland, Reitmans, Browns, Tepperman’s

We also exposed various Canadian companies with pro-Israel history. This includes Fabricland, Reitmans, Browns Shoes, and Tepperman’s.

Wonderful

The Wonderful Company (formerly Roll Global) is a private corporation based in Los Angeles, California. The couple came under fire in response to the LA wildfires, due to their ownership of 57% of the rights to the Kern Water Bank, a large underground reservoir located 150 miles from Los Angeles. The Resnicks have significant ties to Israel through their fundraising activities and financial support. The couple has made substantial contributions to various Israeli institutions and causes, including the IDF.

Marathon

Marathon is a popular Canadian based military watch company that carries a line of IDF branded timepieces. One of their watches — the Dudevan — is name after an special forces unit known for extra-judicial assassinations and undercover activities in Palestine.

Mondelez International

Mondelez International, formerly Kraft Foods Group Inc., is an American multinational food and beverage company based in Chicago, Illinois. Mondelez International has been involved in several initiatives related to Israel, particularly in the food technology sector, investing in Israeli snacks startups, including Torr and The Kitchen. Another source of concern is whether Mondelez sources ingredients from settlements in the West Bank. While the company hasn’t publicly released detailed information specifying the origin of all its ingredients, this lack of transparency fuels much of the debate surrounding the company’s relationship with Israel.

Sapiens

Sapiens is a public insurance company with many ties to companies that are developing in Occupied Palestine. Sapiens is technology partners with IBM and Microsoft. The same Microsoft who provides tech, Al, and cloud services to IDF and the zionist state to maintain and administer an ongoing system of apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and genocide.

Art Gallery of Ontario

We called for a boycott of Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) for succumbing to Anti-Palestinian Racism and pressure Israel Museums & Arts, Canada (IMAAC) in forcing out Wanda Nanibush, the inaugural curator of Indigenous Art at the AGO. AGO has also used trans people to launder its public image. In their Casa Susanna exhibit, AGO uses photographs of trans people without their consent to bolster its image as “progressive” institution.

Teddy Fresh

Teddy Fresh is a Los Angeles-based American streetwear brand founded in 2017 by an Israeli-American couple Hila and Ethan Klein. The couple’s views have been criticized as being strongly pro-Israel, with some accusing them of lacking understanding of the Palestinian perspective. Ethan Klein has a tendency to accuse anyone who points out he’s expressing Zionist talking points of being antisemitic, often going so far as to call them ‘terrorists’ and accusing them of being “terrorist sympathizers”. Hila Klein has also expressed pro-Israel views, going so far as referring to the former Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, as a ‘good guy’. Ethan chimed in that Gallant was a ‘moderating voice’.

Adidas

Adidas is a German multinational corporation specializing in athletic apparel, footwear, and sporting goods. Their history involves the company’s founding by two brothers who were members of the Nazi party. Adidas has a significant presence in Israel, with an official website and social media accounts dedicated to the Israeli market. The company operates several official stores in major cities like Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa. Adidas also had a sponsorship relationship with the Israel Football Association (IFA), providing sportswear and equipment. This ended in 2018 after the contract was not renewed mostly in response to criticism due to the IFA’s inclusion of six teams based in illegal settlements in the West Bank.

Supporters of “Walk with Israel”

We exposed a shameful-lot of companies who decided their values align with supporting genocide, forced starvation, bombing of children, destruction of hospitals, killings of journalists, etc. These companies all supported the 2025 “Walk with Israel.” Companies sponsoring Walk With Israel were asked to consider their unconditional support for Israel, and whether they would support the same violations of human rights and international law anywhere else in the world, a free-pass of unconditional support.

Reebok

Reebok decided that their values align with genocide and apartheid by stepped-in to be the main sponsor of the IFA as the previous sponsor Erreà cancelled its contract before delivering any products.

IKO

IKO is a family-owned Canadian company that specializes in the manufacturing of roofing, waterproofing, and insulation products, serving both residential and commercial markets. Now headquartered in Brampton, Ontario, IKO has 37 plants across North America and Europe, and is regarded as one of the world’s largest exporters of asphalt shingles. The Koschitzky family has been one of the largest family donors to Israeli causes through the Israel Koschitzky Family Charitable Foundation. It has donated to a wide range of charities including Jewish National Fund, United Israel Appeal, and Mizrachi Canada.

Uber

We exposed Uber’s partnership with Flytrex, an Israeli drone delivery company. It is the militarization of our daily lives, the whitewashing of military technology, and our unwitting complicity in a system of oppression, violence, and genocide.

Lifetouch

In it marketing, Lifetouch presents itself as a friendly image, promising to capture precious memories and moments. However, following the chain of corporate ownership leads directly into the heart of high finance/private equity, zionist influence, and controversial surveillance technology, and a deeply concerning potential: the use of childhood portraits to fuel AI-trained mass surveillance technologies. The connection between Lifetouch, Zionism, and mass surveillance is not one of direct operation, but of financial structure and ideological alignment at the highest levels of ownership.

Seakura

Seakura is an agri-tech company from the zionist entity known as israel. In Canada, Seakura is known for its commercial seaweed food products. Seakura not only operates on stolen-land inside in the 1948 borders but also has it’s distribution points inside illegal settlements of Gush Etzion and Ariel in the occupied West Bank. Although Seakura is officially an “Israeli” company, its origin is connected to Canada. Seakura is owned and founded by the Canadian company Metrontario Group.

YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth

On Nov 19, 2025, Rana Zaman was awarded the YMCA Peace Medal #by the YMCA of the Greater Halifax/Dartmouth. But in a blatant act of anti-Palestinian racism, about a week later on Nov 27, the award/medal was rescinded from Ms. Zaman by the YMCA at the behest of the zionist lobby groups Atlantic Jewish Council and B’nai Brith. We strongly condemned the YMCA’s actions and their capitulation to zionist pressure. The punishing of activists and human rights defenders by Canadian institutions due to their public advocacy for Palestinian rights and criticism of Israel’s on going genocide in Gaza needs to stop.

US Products

In addition to our Boycott and Shame List, we highlighted specific companies to boycott in support of Palestine and to resist American tariff’s. We highlighted American companies and products that support zionism and apartheid in Palestine.

Divestment from Israeli apartheid, occupation, and genocide

End military missions in the West Bank

Called on Canada to end its military mission assisting Israeli occupation. Over the past two decades, Canada spent hundreds of millions of dollars supporting a US effort to build a Palestinian Authority Security Force to assist Israel’s illegal occupation of the West Bank. Almost 9,000 letters were sent to then Defence Minister Bill Blair and NDP Defence Critic Lindsay Mathyssen.

I Vote Palestine

As part of the IVotePalestine campaign, we invited leaders, parties, and candidates in the 2025 Ontario provincial election to complete a questionnaire in regard to their stance on Palestine. Only 9 candidates took the time to complete the survey.

CDPQ, CPPIB, and “Big 5” Banks

We also amplified the divestment work of Coalition Members including:

  • The work of Coalition du Quebec Urgence Palestine and Coalition Member Just Peace Advocates report on CDPQ investments. The analysis revealed that Quebecers’ nest egg invests $27.4 billion in 76 companiescomplicit in violations of the human rights of the Palestinian people.
  • Analysis of the “Big 5” banks, by Just Peace Advocates, which exposed more than $132 billion USD of investments in companies involved in Israel’s occupation, apartheid, and genocide.
  • Analysis of Canada Pension Plan Investment Board’s (CPPIB) 2024/25 fiscal year end report, Just Peace Advocates identified more than $27 billion of investments in 61 companies implicated in illegal activities in the occupied Palestinian territory.

PrideTO

The solidarity group, Queers4Palestine picked-up the call of #NoPrideInGenocide and launched a campaign calling on Pride Toronto to cut ties with TD Bank and Amazon, as well as reject any organizations representing “Israel” in the parade (e.g., CIJA), among other demands. The activists’ claims were supported by Just Peace Advocates’ analysis of the “Big Five” Canadian banks which showed that TD had $19.4 billion USD of complicit investments.

CBC Newfoundland

Local activists held a protest to confront CBC Newfoundland for uncritically repeating the talking points of Israeli Genocidal Forces in its coverage of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

WSP Global

WSP is a Canadian, Quebec-based, company that provides technical expertise and strategic advice on construction and infrastructure. WSP Global is a major participant in Israel’s settler colonial apartheid regime and unlawful occupation in Palestine. It is the project manager for the Jerusalem Light Rail (JLR) and supported the Tel-Aviv Jerusalem Fast Train (A1) project located in unlawfully annexed and occupied Jerusalem. They are also significantly involved in the ongoing occupation of Kashmir, through their construction of the Chenab railway bridge. Our campaign built off of 5 years of work from Al-Haq and member organization Just Peace Advocates. It included in-person actions, social media amplification, and a letter writing campaign that resulted in 11,190 letters being sent. WSP sold it’s “Israeli business” to a “local management team” called “WSP Consulting Engineers Israel Ltd.” This closure occurred as a result of the movement’s advocacy work. As Just Peace Advocates explained: Even if WSP has left Israel, they are responsible for addressing human rights violations. Therefore, unless they take further action, they have not done their due diligence. If WSP has in fact stopped their occupation projects, they must provide remedies now. WSP cannot get a “free pass” on war crimes simply by selling its business after violating international law.

Sportswashing in Canada

Davis Cup

Along with local organizations including Labour for Palestine Halifax/Kjipuktuk, Palestine Solidarity Halifax, Nova Scotia Student Strike, and Independent Jewish Voices Halifax, we were clear that The Davis Cup event was nothing more than an effort to launder the reputation of a state committing genocide and guilty of illegal military occupation and apartheid.

Tennis Canada ended up deciding that the Davis Cup Tie versus Israel would be played in a closed venue format. We condemned Tennis Canada and the International Tennis Federation for caring more about the safety of Israeli athletes than of the 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, under relentless bombardment.

Ottawa Equestrian Tournaments

The RBC Ottawa International CSI5* CSI2* equestrian tournament was hosted in August 2025 and included Daniel Bluman, and Israeli rider. Further, RBC was the founding sponsor of the Ottawa Equestrian Tournaments and Wesley Clover Parks. The RBC Ottawa International CSI5* CSI2* does not occur or exist outside the context of Israel’s egregious actions and ongoing genocide.

Kick Israel Out of FIFA

We called for a boycott of the World Cup games in Canada unless Canada Soccer calls on FIFA and the UEFA to give Israel a Red Card, and kick out apartheid!

As part of a global coalition, we also called on FIFA and the UEFA to Kick Israel out and ban both Israel and the US from hosting or participating in international sporting events. This action was led by Black Alliance for Peace.

We also co-hosted the Kick Israel Out of FIFA Webinar with the global coalition, with international speakers including Leyla Hamed (host/moderator), Abubaker Abed, Kat Vilarev, Ajamu Baraka, Shireen Ahmed, Roger Waters, Nathan Kalman-Lamb, Jill Thomson, Bram Hanekom, David Denny JP, Robert Wilson.

CRA National Week of Action

Over the past three years detailed complaints have been submitted to the CRA asking it to investigate several dozen Israel-focused charities, including the Canadian Zionist Cultural Association, Mizrachi Canada, Jerusalem Heritage Foundation of Canada, Canada Charity Partners and HESEG Foundation. Canadian taxpayers continue to subsidize tax breaks for war crimes and genocide.

Activists across Canada rallied at Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) offices across the country. This coordinated effort highlighted the CRA’s failure to enforce its own laws. Actions took place at 20+ cities across Canada.

Nathan & Lily Silver Foundation

We also amplified Just Peace Advocates work exposing the Nathan & Lily Silver Foundation and its connections to Metrontario — a Canadian company that was added to the UN Database of companies participating in the maintenance and expansion of illegal settlements in occupied Palestine. The Silver Foundation also funds Canadian charities that are directing funds to illegal settlements and the Israeli military.
