La Nakba c’est la grande « catastrophe » vécue par les Palestinien.ne.s lors de la création de l’État d’Israël le 15 mai 1948. Près d’un million de personnes ont été chassées de leurs maisons et de leurs terres sans possibilité de retour en violation de la résolution de l’ONU qui obligeait Israël à respecter le droit au retour de ces réfugié.e.s.
Depuis, la colonisation, l’occupation, l’apartheid et les répressions brutales par Israël ont été le lot quotidien des Palestinien.ne.s au point où leur existence comme peuple est menacée.
? NOUS MARCHONS pour rappeler ce triste événement et conserver dans nos mémoires le souvenir des Palestinien.ne.s de 1947.
? NOUS MARCHONS pour les centaines de mort.e.s et les dizaines de milliers de blessé.e.s de la Marche du Retour qui, à Gaza tous les vendredis, défie l’occupation et la répression féroce de l’armée israélienne depuis un an.
? NOUS MARCHONS pour les Palestinien.ne.s de Jérusalem Est désormais annexée par Israël et reconnue par l’administration Trump au mépris du droit international. Ces Palestinien.ne.s sont des citoyen.ne.s de 3ème classe d’un État d’Apartheid qui cache de moins en moins son jeu.
? NOUS MARCHONS de façon particulière en ce jour de la Fête des mères, pour rendre hommage aux mères palestiniennes qui sont souvent tuées, blessées, arrêtées et emprisonnées; aux mères forcées d’accoucher aux postes de contrôle en Cisjordanie; aux mères de Gaza souffrant de 13 ans de blocus criminel; aux mères qui pleurent leurs enfants emprisonnés, blessés ou assassinés par les balles et les bombes israéliennes; aux mères discriminées par les lois d’apartheid; aux mères en exil, dans des camps de réfugiés, attendant le retour promis depuis 71 ans. Face à ces situations intolérables, ces mères palestiniennes résistent au jour le jour avec un courage extraordinaire. Nous leur rendons hommage.

NOUS MARCHONS pour soutenir la campagne internationale de boycott, désinvestissement et sanctions contre l’État israélien, jusqu’à ce qu’il respecte le droit international à savoir la fin de l’occupation et de la colonisation, l’arrêt immédiat du blocus de Gaza, la destruction du Mur, l’égalité entre tou.te.s les citoyen.ne.s, et le retour des réfugié.e.s
? NOUS MARCHONS pour exiger du gouvernement canadien ? qu’il annule la motion anti-BDS votée par le parlement canadien en février 2016 ? qu’il mette fin à sa complicité criminelle avec le gouvernement américain de Trump en s’opposant avec force et non du bout des lèvres au transfert de leur ambassade à Jérusalem-est et à la reconnaissance de l’annexion par Israël du Golan syrien ? qu’il développe une politique extérieure respectueuse des droits humains des palestinien.ne.s et du droit à l’autodétermination du peuple palestinien ? qu’il mette fin au statut d’organisme de bienfaisance du Fonds national juif du Canada qui utilise illégalement l’argent des contribuables canadiens pour financer l’armée israélienne et la colonisation.
? NOUS MARCHONS pour exiger du gouvernement québécois ? qu’il cesse toute entente de coopération avec Israël mise en place en 1997 et renouvelée régulièrement ? qu’Hydro-Québec mette fin à son entente de partenariat en cyber sécurité avec la Israël Electric Corporation ? que les élu.e.s de l’Assemblée nationale votent une motion de reconnaissance de la Nakba comme injustice historique envers les Palestinien.ne.s et appuient une solution politique basée sur le respect du droit international.
? NOUS MARCHONS pour que ce message atteigne la société civile québécoise et canadienne et toutes les personnes de bonne volonté afin que nous puissions construire une forte mobilisation solidaire susceptible de contribuer à l’atteinte d’une paix avec justice pour le peuple palestinien.
THE NAKBA…WHICH CONTINUES STILL
The Nakba is the great “catastrophe” experienced by the Palestinians during the creation of the State of Israel on May 15, 1948. Nearly one million people were driven from their homes and lands without the possibility of return in violation of the UN resolution that obliged Israel to respect the right of return of these refugees
Since then, colonization, occupation, apartheid and brutal repression by Israel have been the daily lot of Palestinians to the point where their existence as a people is threatened.
? WE MARCH to recall this sad event and guard the memory of the fate of the 1947 Palestinians.
? WE MARCH for the hundreds of deaths and the tens of thousands of wounded in the March of Return, which takes place in Gaza every Friday, meant to defy the illegal occupation and the fierce repression of the Israeli army .
? WE MARCH for Palestinians from East Jerusalem, now annexed by Israel and recognized by the Trump administration as Israel’s capital in defiance of international law. These Palestinians are third-class citizens of an apartheid state that less and less conceals its duplicity.
? WE MARCH ESPECIALLY on Mother’s Day, to honour Palestinian mothers who are often killed, injured, arrested and imprisoned; mothers forced to give birth at checkpoints in the West Bank; the mothers of Gaza suffering from 13 years of criminal blockade; mothers who mourn their children imprisoned, wounded or murdered by Israeli bullets and bombs; mothers discriminated against by apartheid laws; mothers in exile, in refugee camps, who have been waiting for the promised return for 71 years. In the face of these intolerable situations, these Palestinian mothers resist from day to day with extraordinary courage. We honour them.

WE MARCH to support the international campaign of boycott, divestment and sanctions against the Israeli state, until it respects international law and puts an end to the occupation and colonization, to demand the immediate cessation of the blockade of Gaza, to demand the destruction of the Separation Wall, the equality of all citizens, and the return of Palestinian refugees.
? WE MARCH to demand from the Canadian government ? that it rescind the anti-BDS motion passed by the Canadian parliament in February 2016 ? put an end to its criminal complicity with the US government of Trump by forcefully opposing – with more than just lip service – the transfer of the U.S. Embassy to East Jerusalem and the recognition of Israel’s annexation of the Syrian Golan Heights? that it develop a foreign policy that respects the human rights of Palestinians and the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people ? that it put an end to the charitable status of the Jewish National Fund of Canada, which illegally uses Canadian taxpayers’ money to fund the Israeli army and colonization.
? WE MARCH to demand that the Québec government ? cease all cooperative agreements with Israel put in place in 1997 and renewed regularly ? that Hydro-Québec terminate its cyber security partnership agreement with Israel Electric Corporation ? that the Quebec National Assembly pass a motion to recognize the Nakba as an historical injustice to the Palestinians and support a political solution based on respect for international law.
