Statement issued by Palestinian institutions and associations in the homeland and the diaspora

The Canadian BDS Coalition & International BDS Allies endorse this joint statement.

We join with others to strongly condemn what was stated in the statement of the Boycott National Committee (BNC) in Ramallah, which explicitly called for silence about and ignoring of the armed Palestinian resistance in solidarity activities with Palestine in Western countries.

What was stated in this document does not express – and does not represent – our Palestinian people – nor the broad solidarity movement, neither from near nor from afar. Our people are with the resistance, and the movements and forces of liberation and solidarity express their position day and night in marches, demonstrations, and popular and public conferences, and confirm their support for the Palestinian resistance. There is also a declared and strong position from the youth, student, and trade union movements around the world, especially in the Americas and Europe, expressed by the glorious student uprising in American universities and their pride in the symbols and heroes of Palestinian resistance.

The Boycott National Committee (BNC) which seems to be far removed from the movement in the streets and the broad global movement, has forgotten that reality has changed, and the balance of power has changed with it after the start of the glorious Al-Aqsa Flood from the Gaza Strip, and the exposure of all parties in the struggle and the truth of their positions: those who stand with Palestine and its resistance, and those who stand against it. Our people and the broad solidarity movements that support their liberation struggle, can no longer tolerate any inconsistency or ambiguous and defeatist positions that undermine our rights and our cause, and marginalize the popular and international state of pride in and support for the heroic Palestinian, Lebanese and Arab armed resistance, and the achievements they records daily on the ground. There is a state of popular consensus at all levels.

It is time for the BNC in Ramallah to acknowledge the fact that it does not have the mandate, power, or legitimacy to impose this opinion which is not accepted by our people. It has no right to address supporters of solidarity with Palestine with condescension, to issue decisions from closed rooms, or to issue a statement to try to impose its agenda and programs in the service of its donors or its falling political ceiling.

Our Palestinian people in general, and in exile and diaspora in particular, stand behind their struggling student movement everywhere, and also salute the students of Palestine in all universities inside and outside the occupied country, especially in the struggling Gaza Strip.

In conclusion, the Palestinian resistance in all its forms, with the armed resistance at its heart, will remain badges of honor on the chests of our people and all the free people of the world who dream of achieving justice for the Palestinian people, represented by the liberation of Palestine, all of Palestine from the river to the sea.
