Trudeau govt envoy must apologize for supporting fired Minister after anti-Palestinian outburst

Send a letter to Deborah Lyons

Deborah Lyons called Selina Robinson “wonderful“ minutes after the now disgraced BC minister made a series of anti-Palestinian remarks including calling pre-European colonization Palestine “a crappy piece of land with nothing on it”.

Canada’s Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism must apologize for lending government credibility to Robinson’s anti-Palestinian racism.

Special envoy Lyons has an anti-Palestinian history. When she was Canada’s ambassador to Israel Lyons organized a pizza party at the embassy for Canadians fighting in the Israeli military. At the January 2020 event ambassador Lyons told the Canadians fighting in a foreign military “we at the embassy are very proud of what you’re doing.”
