On January 1, 2026, WSP in Israel formally announced a rebranding. Their new name, “PB Israel”, and new logo were announced on LinkedIn. It also appears from at least two business databases that their official name has changed from “WSP Consulting Engineers Israel Ltd” to “PBIL Consulting Engineers Ltd.” It seems WSP has succumbed to the movement’s pressure, evidenced both by the sale of its business in Israel and the local company’s rebranding. We reaffirm our call for WSP to address the human rights violations that occurred through its participation in occupied Palestine and occupied Kashmir.
We consider this a partial win. It is a win in the fact that WSP clearly felt the pressure and not only decided to sell its company, but nearly 4 months after the sale, it was seemingly forced to rebrand because we wouldn’t let them use the WSP name. This is the result of the movement’s hard work. The pressure on WSP directly and indirectly, through actions targeting institutions like the CDPQ, CPP and Canadian universities, made an impact.
That being said, WSP has refused to explain while they’ve done this or concede that it was the result of pressure. They also simply handed off their apartheid projects to a company that will continue supporting the settler colonial project of Israel.
